Coaching helps you to create an energising future, whether that be developing a new vision, setting audacious goals and plans to achieve them, becoming a better leader or improving your day-to-day performance in a meaningful way. This can provide you with peace of mind that you are creating your future with intention rather than hope. When you create with intention and feel more secure in your future, you feel more confident, clearer, more focused, outcome oriented and time rich. Imagine how this will impact your career trajectory and reward, your team, and your clients and how being ‘inside-out’ confident can impact all aspects of your life…not just work.
In our work together on creating your future, we will establish the outcomes that you want from executive coaching, create a clear vision of where you want to be, what that would mean for you and the strategies for getting there.
Our work on leaning into your future will be making sure that you have the appropriate skills, mindset and energy to commit to the transformation and make it happen. You will be clear on the steps required.

Through our coaching partnership, individuals commonly attain three distinct outcomes. Firstly, a transformed mindset related to their coaching vision/goals accompanied by improved self-assurance and a deeper comprehension of their cognitive patterns. Secondly, they will have clarity on next steps in working towards their vision or goals. The third outcome invariably remains bespoke to each client, reflecting their individual journey. Let me know if you’d like me to help you discover what that might be for you.
Please see the testimonials page to read about the experiences of my clients.
Recent topics include: improving as a leader, succeeding in a new role, working on strengths and weaknesses, dealing with imposter syndrome, addressing a harmful inner critic, having difficult conversations, improving delegation and creating space to move from being operational to more strategic. See the You section of the website.
The most common approach is for me to meet with coachees (either in person or by video call) monthly and we typically allocate 90 minutes for a session. However, this is entirely dependent on what suits the coachee. Some want to meet much more regularly and for longer or shorter sessions. I have a number of current clients that I am coaching fortnightly.
Again, that depends. For some, they will get what they want out of the process in as few as 3 sessions and I have other coachees that I have worked with (and continue to do so) for several years as they continue to derive value from the work that we do. In the contracting process we will agree a number of sessions at the outset and then review where we are at the end of that process.
With potential coachees I always hold a ‘chemistry session’ where I talk about the coaching process, where we both assess whether the fit is right for us to work together and if so, will then have a contracting conversation about what we will focus on in the work together.
The sessions themselves are not the coaching process. They are just part of it. From the very moment we agree areas of focus, the process begins. During this process there may be homework and preparation, the sessions themselves, and then periods of reflection between sessions. I often ask my coachees to 'sauté' in what we have worked on together for a while. This can generate new reflections and insights.
In additional to the financial investment in coaching, there is a time commitment for both the sessions themselves and the period between sessions. It is important that you commit to the process fully. I will often agree homework assignments with coachees and there are inevitably periods of reflection between sessions.
I customise my fees by tailoring packages to your specific needs during our consultation. Please note that I do not disclose fee details through email communication.
It depends and this is something we discuss as part of the contracting process. I am genuinely happy to do either, although due to the travel involved many choose to conduct sessions by video - this is by far the most common approach at the moment and I have coached people all over the world in this format. Even if we do work together largely by video we will seek opportunities, where possible, to meet in person as well.
Yes, the content of coaching sessions is confidential. I do not discuss the content of coaching sessions with anyone. We may, at the outset of the process, discuss goals/focus areas for the coaching with your line manager but the sessions themselves remain confidential. You are, of course, free to discuss the sessions with anyone you wish. My other goal is to ensure that the coaching environment feels safe for you - where you are able to talk freely about whatever may come up for you in the process.
The short answer is no. I work to the agenda of whomever I am working with. I have no 'cookie cutter' process. My coachees are unique and so my approach is unique to them. That doesn't mean I am without process. I am able to draw on a range of coaching methodologies and approaches but these will be carefully selected as relevant to the work we are doing together.
Mentoring differs from coaching in that mentoring tends to involve a more senior or experienced person working with a more junior person. They are often using their knowledge and experience as a mentor to help the mentee and it may often involve giving advice. Coaching is a partnership, so no hierarchy involved and is usually based on the coach asking questions which help the coachee to think differently and explore a topic important to their development. A coach, may at times provide advice, but this is not the goal and typically only occurs when absolutely appropriate.
There is absolutely a place for mentoring (I continue to mentor as and when appropriate) but it is important to understand how it differs to coaching.
There are a range of sources which give an indication of the expected ROI on coaching:

Fundamentally, only you know whether you are ready to begin a coaching programme. However, I am going to set out below some questions for you consider. If you are ready for coaching then you should be able to answer yes to most of them:
1. Do you have an issue or goal that you would like to make progress towards?
2. Do you have the time and commitment required for coaching? True transformation requires dedication and commitment. This includes being punctual.
3. Are you willing to work towards changing thoughts, beliefs and the way you see the world?
4. Are you willing to be challenged? I will be prepared to say things to you that perhaps you haven't heard before or other people aren't willing to say to you. It is important that you are ok to go here - occasionally I may need to turn the heat up. However, it will always be done in a safe environment for you.
If you are unsure about the answers to the above, we can discuss these in any exploratory conversations.
I hold a professional certificate in executive coaching and an MSc in Coaching and Behavioural Change, both from Henley Business School in the UK, which is recognised as one of the world's top providers of coaching education. Unlike other taught programs I have experienced, these courses are heavily practical in nature. In addition to my regular coaching work, I have spent hundreds of hours coaching clients as part of these programmes, allowing me to gain extensive hands-on experience.
I am also an accredited Senior Practitioner with the EMCC (European Mentoring & Coaching Council).
However, as you will see from the About Me page, a lot of my development as a coach has come through my own career journey, my life experiences and the hundreds of hours that I have coached people.
The answer is yes, I do have a coach, in fact I have two. I accept that I am work in progress the same as anyone else and so have a commitment to my ongoing personal development.
